The Central Navy Band of Russia under the baton of Captain in the Navy Alexei Karabanov was honoured to participate in the opening ceremony of the Hermitage in Amsterdam on 19 June 2009, playing for Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. 
The Central Navy Band was invited by the producers of the feature film "Admiral" to participate in the presentation of the film on 4 October 2008 at the Pushkinsky Cinema in Moscow.
On September 07, 2008 the Central Navy Band under direction of Captain in the Navy Alexei Karabanov participated in the festival of military music in Borodino.
The Central Navy Band has been granted the national award "Kremlin Grand" and has been granted the honorary title "Honor of Russia". The award was established by the National Defense Agency "Red Square", supported by the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Defense Export Administration and the Ministry of Defense.
Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Central Navy Band Alexei Karabanov was invited by Maestro Valery Gergiev to participate in the First International Festival 'Brass Evenings at the Mariinsky" with two concert programs on the 28th and 29th of March, two days of the three-day festival.
[Announcer] The Central Navy Band under the direction of Captain Alexei Karabanov gave a concert at the Grand Philharmonic Hall in Saint-Petersburg for seamen, ship-builders, and the cadets and students of the naval colleges. In honor of the 102nd anniversary of the Naval Fleet and the 50th anniversary of the first atomic submarine in Russia, the musicians played anthems, songs and classical music. Submariners consider themselves as elite and hope their professional holiday will receive the status of a national remembrance day.
[Captain Karabanov] The Submarine Fleet is at the core of our Navy and the security of Russia. The Day of the Submariners is one of their most important holidays, and has every right to be marked by celebration.
[Announcer] The Submarine Fleet is one of the most secret. But one of their secrets that the seamen like to share: their favorite songs are: "God, Save the Tsar!", "The Evening of the Raid" and "There in the Mist". At the concert the musicians played the music that accompanied and honored the outward-bound seamen.
The Central Navy Band is preparing for the tour to Saint-Petersburg where on March 24 the Band will play a concert. It will be the first concert of the Central Navy Band in Saint-Petersburg Philharmonia. It is always very exciting for musicians to perform on the stage that remembers renowned musicians of the 19th century: F. Lizst, H. Berlioz, R. Wagner, G. Mahler, A. Rubinstein, K. Schumann, P. Viardo.
